Please note this document contains our old name and branding but rest assured the content remains accurate and valid for Salvation Army Homes.

Disability Confident is a government scheme that has created a movement of change, encouraging employers to think differently about disability and to take action to improve how they recruit, retain and develop disabled people.

Salvation Army Homes is proud to be a Disability Confident employer and we have initiated a number of commitments to support our Disability Confident accreditation. See our Disability Confident statement below for more details!

  • Site accessibility is available on our company website, offering text in alternative languages, text to speech functionality, and increased text size.
  • Our vacancies are advertised with Disability Confident job boards such as Evenbreak, who match disabled candidates with inclusive employers. Evenbreak not only share our value of Inclusion but we also share a culture of hiring individuals with lived experiences.
  • All disabled applicants who meet the minimum requirements of the role as set out in the job description will be guaranteed an interview. Reasonable adjustments to the recruitment process will be made to ensure that no applicant is disadvantaged because of a disability.
  • We work with companies such as AXA Health and Access To Work to ensure our new starters and existing employees are supported in the workplace.
  • We’re working hard to ensure that our recruitment processes are inclusive and accessible to everyone. If you require assistance with any aspect of the recruitment or onboarding processes, please contact a member of the team at peopleservices@salvationarmyhomes.org.uk or on 01204 360 506.

Support and assistance that is available to you can include:

  • Site accessibility on our company website, offering text in alternative languages, text to speech functionality, and increased text size
  • The production of any document in an alternative format or larger print on request
  • Accepting a job application in an alternative format that is more suited to a candidate rather than online applications only
  • Reasonable adjustments on request during the interview / assessment process
  • Additional support during the completion of the online on-boarding process

Salvation Army Homes are keen to ensure all their services are accessible for all. Please use the tools below to adjust the website and if you need more assistance do call us.
