Partnership Cup – cheering on the teams!

Last week, together with The Salvation Army we hosted a fantastic football tournament that brought together teams from across our services for a day of fun, sunshine, and community spirit. Three teams represented our services: The Limes, Abbott Lodge, and Braintree Foyer, with each team showing great energy and enthusiasm throughout the day.

It wasn’t just front-line staff and residents getting involved—two of our leadership team, Joe and Dean, joined in to play for the teams too!

The competition was fierce, and we’re excited to share that Braintree Foyer made it all the way to the semi-finals!  

We were also lucky enough to have not one but two footballers, former Wales and Celtic striker John Harston and Manchester City’s Kyle Walker, join us for the event. They spent time meeting the players, sharing stories, and posing for photos, which added an extra layer of excitement to the day.

One of the highlights came when Kyle from The Limes was interviewed by BBC Manchester, giving him a well-deserved moment in the spotlight and sharing the experience of the day with a wider audience.

The weather was on our side, and the sunshine only made the day even more enjoyable. It was a brilliant day of football, teamwork, and positive energy for everyone involved.
