Social Tenant Access to Information Request (STAIRs)

If you are looking for information about Salvation Army Homes, you will soon be able to
access this quickly and easily through STAIRs.

What is STAIRs?

STAIRs stands for the Social Tenants Access to Information Requirements scheme. It is a
new standard introduced by the UK Government to enhance transparency for customers and
residents of private sector social housing providers.

When will information be available?

STAIRs will be introduced in two phases:

Phase 1: Publication Scheme
From October 2026, we will be required to proactively publish information about the
management of our homes. This will include details on governance, decision making and
spending (we are currently gathering this information and will update this page as it becomes
available).

Phase 2: Information Requests

From April 2027, tenants will be able to request relevant information from us about the
management of their homes. This may include details of policies, plans and actions carried
out in the management of social housing, and information collected and retained to support
these activities.

More information is available on the government's website.
